I have owned a set of great neck tools for over 12 years. The ratchets will last you 5 years with home mechanic tasks. Example: Changing brake pads, oil changes, installed a tranny. I have put alot of torque, used it as a hammer, and left the 1/4 ratchet exposed in the elements for one winter. Overall it is a good investment. They have saved me thousands of dollars in repair costs. It would be nice to have a fancier set, but this will do the job. I have never broken a socket. I purchased them at autozone, and they replaced the ratchets on the spot. The only problem is that they are phasing out the great neck line with their own duralast line. The universal sockets have failed me twice. The pin comes out.

Birthday present for my brother to keep in his new truck. He's not a mechanic or anything, but this makes a nice little tool chest for quick fixes to have on hand.

I ordered this to have a set of tools I could fit in a kitchen cabinet and get my bigger tool set out of sight and back to the garage. It was not immediately obvious to me looking at the Amazon description that this was about a 2/3rds size tool set, everything is slightly smaller than regular tools. This is not a big deal for a light use tool kit in the kitchen but no one would want this to do any serious work with it. Hang a picture, pull out a nail, unscrew something, no problem. The overall quality seems ok so far, although I have not put any of the tools to even the lightest test, but there was nothing flimsy about them (other than the small size). I am giving them 4 stars as it fits my purpose and I may have been partly responsible for thinking that a 12.8 inch wide tool box was going to hold a 13inch hammer.

My husband needed a starter set of tools, so I ordered this one as a gift to him and it shipped fast and was here before the date shown for delivery! The outer box is a little cheap but the tools work for what we need them. Definitely recommend this for a starter set!
